Saudi Arabia's preparations to host the AFC Asian Cup 2027 have entered the operational phase, with the countdown reaching 100 days before the tournament kicks off on January 7, featuring 24 teams.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the President of the Asian Football Confederation, stated that Saudi Arabia is on track, praising the efforts of the leadership, government, local committee, and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation to host the largest edition.
He added that the remaining 100 days until the tournament reflects Saudi Arabia's readiness to deliver an exceptional edition, starting from the stadiums and facilities, all the way to a distinguished fan experience, confirming that preparations will be complete by January.
Maya Al-Halabi, the CEO of the local organizing committee, has stated that the preparation of the eight stadiums is proceeding according to the specified program, with the participation of more than 50 entities working together to provide an experience that reflects Saudi Arabian hospitality.
Al-Hilabi confirmed that the scale of preparations reflects Saudi Arabia's capabilities to host major sporting events, pointing out that Jeddah's current hosting of the AFC Asian Cup represents a new milestone in the record of Saudi football hosting.
