The Board of Directors of the Jordan Football Association, chaired by Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, has decided to accept the resignation of Secretary General Sumar Nassar. This move comes in light of the repercussions of the controversy that accompanied the broadcasting crisis of the recent Jordan vs Syria match.
The federation expressed its gratitude and appreciation to Nasar for her contributions to the service and development of the Jordanian football system, without clarifying the reasons for her resignation or directly linking it to the broadcasting crisis.
The broadcast issues surrounding the Jordan vs Syria match have sparked a wave of criticism due to the technical problems that accompanied the transmission, alongside the controversy regarding the arrangements for broadcasting rights and television production. Relevant parties exchanged clarifications regarding the reasons for what occurred.
Following the acceptance of the resignation, the Federation Board has appointed Farah Al-Badarna as acting Secretary General to ensure the continuity of institutional work and the ongoing implementation of the Federation's plans and strategic programs.
Al-Badarna has over 15 years of experience in sports management and governance, business development, and organizing international tournaments. She currently holds the position of Business Development Manager at the Jordan Football Association and previously managed the Women's World Cup under 17 competitions in Jordan in 2016. She also served as the Executive President of the Local Organizing Committee for the AFC Asian Cup in 2018.
