Alejandro "Papu" Gómez has announced his departure from Italian football to embark on a new experience in the United Arab Emirates, after revealing on his social media accounts that he has joined Fortitudo Virtus.
The World Cup champion with Argentina in 2022 bids farewell to Italian football with an emotional message after years spent in the Italian leagues, where his name has been associated with several clubs throughout his career.
Gomez wrote in his message: "It is not easy to leave the warmth of Italy, our usual routine, the smell of coffee we are used to, and the corners that witnessed our growth. Life is a journey of continuous chapters, and today we chose to write the next chapter together."
By moving to the United Arab Emirates, Gómez closes a long chapter of his career in Italy to start a new one with Fortitudo Virtus.
