Getafe have made their first official offer to sign English winger Jadon Sancho, a former Manchester United player, on a free transfer. Sancho's contract with the English club ended last June, making him available without the need to pay a fee to his former club.
According to Spanish newspaper "Sport", citing "Sky Sports Germany", Getafe made their first offer to sign Jadon Sancho on Thursday, noting that the 26-year-old player is considering the offer in consultation with those close to him before making his final decision regarding his next destination.
The main obstacle to completing the deal is Jadon Sancho's salary and Getafe's ability to accommodate him within the club's salary cap, as the Madrid team's management seeks to strengthen coach José Bordalás's squad with players capable of providing an addition without exceeding the available financial resources.
Getafe hope the deal represents an opportunity for Sancho to regain his form and revive his career in one of the major European leagues, having previously played for Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Manchester United.
If the deal is completed, he will become the second notable name that Getafe signs in the free agents market, after signing Danny Carvajal. Sancho's market value is estimated at around 10 million euros, although the transfer will not require a fee.
