The Asian Football Confederation has revealed the official list of referees and officials participating in the management of matches for the AFC Asian Cup 2027, hosted by Saudi Arabia, which includes 76 referees and officials.
The list is the largest in the history of the tournament, featuring 24 referees, along with 41 assistant referees and 11 referees specialized in Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.
The list includes 6 Saudi referees, including a refereeing team from the Kingdom, in preparation for managing the upcoming AFC Asian Cup to be held in Saudi Arabia.
Khalid Al-Turaies and Mohammed Al-Huwaish have been selected as referees, while the list of Saudi assistant referees includes Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari, Saad Al-Sabie, and Khalaf Al-Shammari.
Abdullah Al-Shahri has been selected to work as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) during the AFC Asian Cup.
The AFC Asian Cup 2027 will see the participation of 4 referees from UEFA for the first time in the tournament's history, as part of the cooperation agreement between the Asian and European football federations.
