Moroccan international Brahim Díaz continues his rehabilitation program under the supervision of the medical staff of the Moroccan national team as he attempts to regain his fitness ahead of the upcoming match against Gabon, scheduled for Friday, in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification.
According to Moroccan reports, a Real Madrid player preferred to stay with the Moroccan national team and continue working alongside his teammates, despite suffering from some muscular discomfort, in the hope of reaching the required fitness level and participating in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification matches, if his health condition allows it.
Díaz is currently undergoing a special program aimed at regaining his fitness and returning to the pitch as soon as possible, while the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has not officially disclosed the nature of the injury the player is suffering from or its details.
In a related context, national team coach Mohamed Wahbi called up player Elias Akhomach yesterday to join the Moroccan national team camp, without the federation clarifying in its statement whether his call-up was to replace the injured Brahim Díaz.
