The Serie A has officially announced that Turkish player Hakan Çalhanoğlu, of Inter, has won the Goal of the Month award for August and September, following a fan vote through the league's official channels.
The goal came during the match between Inter and Monza in the first round of Serie A on August 22, when Çalhanoğlu unleashed a powerful shot with his right foot from outside the penalty area, finding the net in the 6th minute and giving his team the lead.
Hakan Çalhanoğlu's goal received the most votes from fans, surpassing a strike from Rolando Mandragora of Torino from outside the area during the match against Fiorentina. Çalhanoğlu claims the award in the first edition that combines the goals of August and September into one period.
Hakan Çalhanoğlu's goal was the first for Inter in the new season, coming as part of the team's 4-1 win over Monza, in a match that saw Inter score three other goals after Çalhanoğlu's strike.
