Himad Abdelli, midfielder for the Algeria national team and Olympique Marseille, suffered an injury during the "Greens" match against their hosts Burundi today, in the second round of Africa Cup of Nations Qualification 2027.
Himad Abdelli was unable to continue the match and left the pitch at the end of the first half, with Adem Zorgane replacing him in the Algeria lineup.
The nature and severity of Himad Abdelli's injury remain unclear as medical examinations and assessments by the Algeria national team's medical staff will take place after the match.
Himad Abdelli has been included in Ibrahim Hamdani's squad for the matches against Zambia and Burundi, after being called up to the national team to participate in Africa Cup of Nations Qualification 2027.
