Olympique Lyon have confirmed that their Burkinabé defender Mohamed Ouédraogo has suffered a serious knee injury that will keep him out for several months.
The club has announced that Ouédraogo, 23, suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee during team training this week, after joining Olympique Lyon last summer from Austrian club Altach.
Lyon has announced that the player will undergo examinations and consultations with the specialist surgeon in the coming period to determine the timing of the surgery, without revealing the expected duration of his absence in detail.
Wydraogo has played five matches with Olympique Lyon since joining the team, before injury temporarily halted his participation. The club stated in its announcement: "The entire club is offering him its support and will remain fully by his side to accompany him throughout his recovery."
