Moroccan international Adam Masina has decided to end his football career at the age of 32 due to recurring injuries that forced him to stay away from the pitch. He will begin a new phase in his professional career as a coach, following years spent as a defender for clubs and the Moroccan national team.

Former Morocco international defender Adam Masina has suffered from ongoing physical issues in recent years, which have hindered his ability to maintain consistency and compete regularly. He was once one of the names relied upon by the coaching staff of the Moroccan national team in several international competitions.

Adam Masina participated with the Moroccan national team in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, but his physical condition worsened after returning from the tournament, following a hip injury he sustained in early 2026. This injury has kept him off the pitch and deprived him of playing official matches since then.

This was not the first injury to hinder Adam Masina's career, as he previously suffered a cruciate ligament tear during the 2022-2023 season while playing for Udinese. This injury kept him out of competition for a long period, and his physical struggles continued in the following years.

Adam Masina was hoping for a new professional experience last summer, having entered negotiations to move to one of the clubs in the Qatar Stars League. However, the talks did not reach an agreement, leaving him without a club at a time when he was looking to regain his fitness and return to competitive action.

With his continued absence from the pitch and failure to find a suitable opportunity to resume his career, the player's future is in question, especially since his last appearance in the Moroccan national team was linked to the Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal.

Despite the end of his career on the pitch, Adam Masina has chosen to remain in the world of football by transitioning to coaching and joining Italian club Progresso, which competes in the third division. This move aims to utilize his previous experience in a new professional path.

The Italian club has officially announced the appointment of Francesco Salmi as the head coach of the first team, with Adam Masina joining the coaching staff as the first assistant to the coach. The former Moroccan international begins a new chapter in his career, transitioning from playing for clubs and the national team to working within the coaching staff, in an experience that will reveal his capabilities in the field of coaching.
